Why should you eat organic? Here’s why I do!
My name is Isabella and I am in Ms. D’s 5th grade class. I am 10 years old and I am going to tell you why I eat organic.
In my opinion I think that most organic food is healthier than non-organic food. Sometimes I get annoyed that I have to eat organic food when I see other people eating non-organic food that looks good to me. At that moment I know that non-organic food has more chemicals and food coloring that can do damage to your body so I try to avoid it. They add food coloring to foods so kids will think that things like Mac and Cheese are the perfect yellow color that we expect from cheese, but the ones with natural coloring are healthier. The added colors have been found to have negative impacts on people’s health.
I believe that organic food can help your body and it still has good flavor and it makes you nice and strong so you can live a healthy and happy life. Organic food has a lot of nutrients and gives you the energy that you need for sports and activities. Don't you want to know that animals you eat have been eating their own healthy diet without antibiotics or extra hormones? Don't you want fruits, vegetables and grains that have not been sprayed with chemical pesticides or fertilizers?
My health is very important to me and organic food is a better choice for my active lifestyle. Organic food has no GMO’s (genetically modified organisms), no added hormones and no pesticides. It feels safe to know that when you eat organic you are eating pure clean food. Next time you eat something non-organic make sure that you think twice about what you’re eating and what you're putting into your body.
